this past weekend was one of my favorite of each year, only to be out done by the excitement that is my brithday. it was the st. patty's day parade in holyoke. blamb and i threw a party at our apartment in north adams on friday before heading down to holyoke on saturday.
blamb and i made a green punch with wayyy more alcohol than i think people realized. there was a sign on the bucket that read, "ahhhhhh. this will harm you." no one took notice and we had people passed out, and incapable of english after 1am. i will say though, we found out that we could fit at least 13 people in our home, and rallied until 5am still drinking the hanging bag of wine. good times. also, no one showed up wearing, gasp, orange.
saturday was fun. we all went to the moonlight diner for brunch. had a yummy burger with chili and cheese on it, along with some coffee. ohhh how allen ginsberg of me. said our goodbyes, and blamb and i proceeded to clean up the house. not too bad of a project. mopped, swept, vaccumed (not necassarily in that order). picked up noah and grabbed blamb back at the homestead and off we went to holyoke. had dinner with the folks, drinks and irish music at the k of c and then went to elizurs. saw the holyoke gang and ms. eileen mcguinness! drank wayyyyyy too much.
sunday came in with a roar. totally forgot to get beer for the day, luckily papa kirk saved the day by grabbing me some from the bar. folks came in, skype calls were made to the brother and heather/steven in ireland. more folks came in. drinks were poured. drinks were drunk. murray got out, chased him down the street with brett, found my friends half way down the parade line., poured more drinks, waited for parade to start. parade started. mummers and bagpipers----> always my fav. the weather, although cold, was beautiful. the spirit was amazing. so much joy and so much happiness. and yes, stevie shay ended up in a tree.
came back to my folks house after the parade for some of my mom's dips. sooo yummy. buffalo chicken layer dip and a layer taco dip. ohhhh. sooooo. gooood. hung out with friends some more. tucked noah and blamb in for a nap, and headed to lena's for some farmhouse time. left there, came back to casa de kirk, boys were already awake hanging with the parents, and we said goodbye to holyoke for this year's st. patty's day.
floated my evacuation day holiday to yesterday for a much needed recoup. so because i didn't want to waste my day off by resting, i headed up to bennington, met up with eggzy, went to family dinner with him and his friends at kevins (go there. you won't be disappointed!), said farewell, and headed to hang out with noah and matty.
all in all, i am completely in love with the past 4 days.
